The majority of Americans are vaccinated, and cautious optimism is in the air after a year of hardship, anxiety, and devastating loss.

U.S. workers have tendered their resignations in historically high numbers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and a recent study on “The Great Resignation” trend, published on Forbes.com, predicts that employees will continue quitting in record numbers throughout 2021.

The healthcare and technology industries saw the highest annual increases in resignations in 2020–2021, and managers left their jobs at a stunning 12 % rate, citing long hours, stress, and lack of child care.

As a business owner and hiring professional, I’ve unfortunately witnessed my own employees jump ship during the pandemic, in addition to hearing from hundreds of healthcare professionals about their motivations for a job change.

My anecdotal research has provided further insight into the “Great Resignation.” Employees are overworked, anxious, and feel undervalued; many believe they are underpaid as well.
